Juvenile Board

The El Paso County Juvenile Board is the governing body of El Paso County Juvenile Probation Department.

As mandated by HRC Chapter 152.0007the duties of the juvenile board include establishing a juvenile probation department, employing a chief probation officer, adopting a budget and establishing policies, including financial policies for juvenile services within the jurisdiction of the juvenile board. In accordance with §51.12 of the Texas Family Code, the juvenile board also controls the place and conditions of detention . Annually, a majority of the juvenile board must personally inspect each of the department's facilities.
